About the Céilidh

The Céilidh is an annual event and is held in the evening after the Bundanoon Highland Gathering. This year the Céilidh is being included on the Brigadoon Festival of Events programme.

Join the Chieftain of the Day at the official Brigadoon Céilidh which is an informal social gathering with folk music, singing and dancing.

Entertainment commences at 8:00pm and concludes at midnight. Dress is informal but Highland dress or a show of tartan is welcomed.

A feature of the Brigadoon Céilidh is the arrival of a haggis to an accompaniment by a piper. The traditional Rabbie Burns address Ode to a Haggis follows, then a tasting.

Throughout the evening revellers make merry to a lively band and a mix of modern and traditional dancing, interspersed with other entertainment.

A light supper is served and you may bring your own alcohol, water, soft drinks, glasses and opener.

There are lucky door prizes to be won, and raffles for charities. The Bundanoon Highland Gathering Inc as a non-profit organisation, donates all moneys raised to local charities.
