To help celebrate the 40th anniversay of Brigadoon, devisers of Scottish Country Dances have been invited to submit entries for a dance to honour the occasion.
We have asked that the name of the dance reflects in some way the occasion it honours. The following criteria has been sent to all entrants:
The winning entrant will receive prizemoney of $100. The inaugural performance of the dance will be at Brigadoon 2017. This will be recorded and published on the Brigadoon YouTube channel.
To further mark the occasion a leaflet will be published with the Bundanoon Jig and the winning dance. This will be sold at Brigadoon 2017 and through the RSCDS Sydney Branch Bookshop. Proceeds will go to Brigadoon

The competition to devise a 40th anniversary dance has now closed.
A pleasing 12 entries have been received. In a few weeks they will be evaluated and the winner chosen. Then clubs will be notified of all the dances to be danced in the demonstration, including the winning dance (though the devisor of the dance will not be announced until Brigadoon).
Brigadoon is happy to announce that the winning dance is: Bundanoon Strathspey devised by Morton Jay.
Under the expert leadership of Diana Hastie the 12 entries were judged on 19 November at Schiehallion, Bundanoon. We look forward to the first public performance of the Bundanoon Strathspey at Brigradoon on 1 April 2017.
