Shortbread Competition

A baking competition for amateur cooks

To help celebrate the Bundanoon Highland Gathering 40th Anniversary, Brigadoon invites amateur cooks from the Southern Highlands to enter a Shortbread Competition.

The shortbread will be judged on the evenness of baking, texture, flavour and appearance. Eating quality is of the utmost importance.

  • There is no entry fee.
  • Competitors must reside in the Southern Highlands and not be professional cooks. Committee members of the Bundanoon Highland Gathering are ineligible to enter.
  • A valid registration form must be received by 18th March 2017 either by e-mail to: shortbread@brigadoon.org.au or by mail to: Shortbread Competition, PO Box 80, Bundanoon 2578.
  • You may enter as many times as you wish; each entry requires six pieces of shortbread. They must be presented on a disposable plate with no identifying marks or labels (a registration code will be assigned to each entry on delivery).
  • Entries are to be delivered on Sunday 26th March 2017 between 9am and noon to the Supper Room at the Soldiers Memorial Hall, Bundanoon.
  • Judges to be announced closer to the date. Their decision will be final.
  • All entries become the property of The Bundanoon Highland Gathering.
  • Prizes will be: 1st prize, $250.00, 2nd prize, $100.00, 3rd prize, $50.00.
  • Winners will be announced on 1st April 2017 at Brigadoon.
